Tornado destroys Urbana business, owner says they plan to rebuild

URBANA, Ill. - A confirmed tornado tore through Urbana on Thursday evening, leveling the main building of Becks Country Shoppe. The National Weather Service verified that the twister touched down directly in front of the store, leaving the structure in ruins.

The owner of the longtime local business spoke with reporters on Friday, standing near the debris that was once the shop's main building. Despite the total loss, the owner said they are determined to rebuild. "We have deep roots here," the owner stated. "This community has supported us for years, and we will be back."

No injuries were reported from the storm, which moved quickly through the area. The tornado also caused damage to nearby trees and power lines, but the destruction was concentrated at the business site. Cleanup crews have already begun removing wreckage.
