How does Egg die? Aegon the Unlikely becomes king of Westeros

How does Egg die? Aegon the Unlikely becomes king of Westeros

The latest episode of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" delivered a stunning revelation, uncovering the true Targaryen heritage of Dunk's humble squire, Egg. Now known to be Aegon Targaryen, the boy is destined for a crown, becoming King Aegon V, remembered by history as "Aegon the Unlikely."

His ascent to the Iron Throne is as unexpected as his hidden identity. Following a series of tragic deaths in the Targaryen line, the Great Council of 233 AC bypasses more obvious claimants and chooses Aegon, largely due to his reputation for good character and empathy forged during his travels with Ser Duncan the Tall.

His reign is defined by a sincere desire to enact reforms that better the lives of the smallfolk, often putting him at odds with the powerful nobility of Westeros. While his specific end is not depicted in the published novels, historical accounts indicate King Aegon V perished in a catastrophic event known as the Tragedy at Summerhall. This great fire and explosion, which also claimed the life of his close friend Lord Commander Duncan the Tall, remains one of the most mysterious and pivotal tragedies in Targaryen history, forever marking the end of his well-intentioned but turbulent rule.
