Stockton Adds New Business Certificates, Transfer Options

Stockton University has rolled out a fresh set of business credentials and transfer pathways, giving students more ways to tailor their education to specific career goals. The new certificates cover focused areas such as entrepreneurship, financial planning, and data analytics, allowing learners to gain specialized skills without committing to a full degree program. At the same time, the university has added several transfer agreements with community colleges, making it easier for students to move into Stockton's business school with junior standing.

The move is part of a broader push to meet workforce demand in southern New Jersey. School officials say the certificates are designed for working adults who want to upskill quickly, while the transfer options aim to reduce the total cost of a four-year degree. Students can now pair a certificate with an existing major or stand alone as a credential for entry-level roles.

Faculty members helped design the curriculum to align with current industry needs, including courses on digital marketing and supply chain management. For transfer students, the new agreements guarantee credit acceptance for specific course sequences, removing guesswork from the process. The university is also offering advising sessions to help students map out which combination of certificates and degrees fits their plans.

Enrollment for the new options opens this fall, with online and evening sections available for most courses. Stockton says it will keep adding certificates based on employer feedback and job placement data.
