A popular restaurant in Castle Rock is sounding the alarm over what it calls an aggressive ticketing campaign by a private parking enforcement company. The owners of the establishment say that their customers are being hit with costly citations from Parking Revenue Recovery Services, and it is driving away business.
According to the restaurant, the problem started when the enforcement company began patrolling the shared parking lot more frequently. Diners who stay just a few minutes past a posted time limit or who park in a slightly off-center spot are reportedly receiving fines. The restaurant's management claims that the constant threat of a ticket is making people think twice before coming in for a meal.
"We are seeing regulars who used to come three times a week now only come once," one owner said. "They are afraid to sit down and enjoy their food because they are watching the clock."
The restaurant argues that the strict enforcement does not match the reality of a busy dining experience, where meals can take longer than expected. They have tried to work with the property managers and the ticketing company to find a solution, but so far, no changes have been made. For now, the restaurant is left to apologize to frustrated customers and hope that the issue does not permanently damage their reputation in the community.
