A man in his 20s is recovering after being shot following a physical altercation outside a business on Detroit's southwest side. Police responded to the scene late Wednesday evening near the intersection of West Vernor Highway and Springwells Street. According to investigators, the victim was involved in a dispute with another individual that escalated into a physical fight. During the confrontation, the suspect pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots, striking the man in the lower body.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Officers located shell casings at the scene but the suspect fled before police arrived. No arrests have been made, and authorities are still working to identify the shooter. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and speaking with witnesses to piece together what led to the argument.
