From rockets to brain implants, here's a look at Elon Musk's vast empire

Elon Musk, now the world's first-ever trillionaire, oversees a sprawling network of companies that span radically different industries. His ventures reach from the depths of the earth to the surface of Mars, and even into the human brain.

The most visible part of his empire is SpaceX, the rocket company that has revolutionized space travel with reusable boosters. It now launches satellites, supplies the International Space Station, and is developing the massive Starship vehicle meant for missions to the Moon and Mars. Then there is Tesla, the electric car maker that forced the entire auto industry to pivot toward battery power. Tesla also builds solar panels and massive battery storage systems for homes and power grids.

Musk's influence extends far beyond transportation and energy. His company Neuralink is working on brain-computer interfaces, implanting tiny devices into human brains to help treat neurological conditions. The Boring Company digs tunnels under cities, aiming to solve traffic with underground loops. He also owns X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, which he bought for 44 billion dollars and has since reshaped into a hub for his political and business announcements.

Rounding out the portfolio is xAI, an artificial intelligence startup that competes with OpenAI, a company Musk co-founded but later left. His vast holdings, from rocket factories to chip designers, give him a unique concentration of power across technology, transportation, and communications.
